Elementary School
Escola Filadélfia operates in the first stage of Elementary Education, which are the initial years, with classes from 1st to 5th grade, for children aged 6 to 10 years old.
During this period, children have the opportunity to acquire reading, writing and calculation skills, in addition to exploring different areas of knowledge.
In Elementary School, several subjects are taught, including Portuguese, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, Arts and Physical Education. The main objective is to develop students' communication, interpretation and expression skills, as well as provide a solid foundation in mathematics and science.
The contents are approached in a playful and interactive way, using games, practical activities and audiovisual resources to make learning more stimulating and meaningful for children. Teachers adopt appropriate methodologies for the cognitive and emotional development of children, and act as knowledge facilitators, stimulating curiosity and active participation of students in classes. In addition, the spiritual and socio-emotional development of students is promoted, encouraging teamwork, solidarity, empathy and autonomy.
Assessment in Elementary Education is carried out in a continuous and procedural manner, taking into account the student's overall development. In addition to grades, observation of performance, participation, effort and individual evolution is valued.
The relationship between student, school and family is essential at this stage, as parents and guardians play an important role in monitoring the educational process of children. It is essential that there is dialogue and exchange of information between the school and the family to ensure the best development of students.
Quality education at this stage is essential for the full development of children and for building a solid foundation for the rest of their school life.
